Traditonal cuisine, expirences and home hospitality in the Faroe Islands - eatlocal

My name is Beinta Kass, and I'm 50 years old. I worked for many years as a secretary, but now I am trying something completely different: Inviting people into our private home. We have 5 children from age 12 to 28 (and a grandson), so we are used to having full house. I love to travel and eating a good meal.


Main course: Fish friccadells (fish cakes) with boiled potatoes and raw, grated carrots with raisins. Served with melt and remoulade (relish). Included in the price is one glass of milk and of course unlimited water :-)

Dessert: Apple Trifle: Sweetened breadcrumbs, stewed apples, whipped cream and grated chocolate Including tea and coffee.

It is possible to include a starter (at an extra cost of DKK 75,- pr. person): White kidneys, as we call it. It is actualy sheeps' testicles. Please, inform me under comments, if you want the starter and how many, since it is not yet possible to book it directly.

We also serve beer and wine at an additional cost. Cash only.


We can accommodate 2-8 persons.

We live in Tórshavn, around 1 km north of the Nordic House.

Bus no. 4 stops twice in an hour close to our house.

Local buses in Tórshavn are free of charge.

Reservations need to be made no later than 24 hours before.
